CICI Acapulco Magico

CICI Acapulco Magico - Located on Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, this modern aquatic park targets mostly children. Its main attractions include a pool with manmade waves, water slides and an air balloon that floats 30 meters (100 feet) high. Open Monday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.

Parque Papagayo - Located on Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue in front of Hornos Beach. Here, you'll find rides and attractions, such as go-karts, a roller rink and many different games for children.

Beaches

Roqueta Beach

This beach, located in front of Caleta and Caletilla, is on Roqueta Island and is protected by the Mexican Navy. To arrive at this beautiful destination, you can take a boat that leaves from Caleta Beach.You can do aquatic sports thanks to its small waves. We recommend you visit the lighthouse and the zoo, which are located on the same island as this beach.

Puerto Marques Beach

Located 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) southeast of Acapulco, you can arrive at the Puerto Marques Bay by driving down a panoramic highway and taking a turnoff toward the port. This beach is a favorite among locals. You can find several places to enjoy delicious fish and seafood dishes.

Caleta and Caletilla Beach

Known for its calm waters and gorgeous scenery, these beaches are located on Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, in front of Roqueta Island. You can arrive there on foot or on public transportation. Icacos Beach

Located in the Zona Dorada in the southern portion of the bay, is one of Acapulco's biggest and longest beaches. The waves are generally moderate at this beach. This beach is located in the hotel zone and is ideal for doing all kinds of water sports that require rentals. Here you'll find the CICI aquatic park, which has dolphin and seal shows. It also offers water slides, swimming pools, and small aquariums, among other attractions.

Pie de la Cuesta

Located 10 kilometers (6 miles) northeast of the Acapulco Bay, this beach is known for its strong surf, so be careful when swimming. You can arrive by taking the Pie de la Cuesta highway until you reach the four-kilometer mark in Barra de Coyuca. On this small beach of powdery sand, where you can look out onto the open sea, there are various restaurants offering delicious fish and seafood dishes. You can also relax in the sun or shade on a hammock or take a boat ride to Coyuca Lagoon.

Revolcadero

You'll find Revolcadero four kilometers (2.5 miles) east of Puerto Marques. The waves and undertow are strong so be careful in the water.This is a huge beach where you can do various water sports like surfing, jet skiing, or you can simply soak up the sun while you enjoy a snack or tasty meal in one of the restaurants.

Punta Diamante

Located five kilometers southeast of Puerto Marques. This beach is famous for its powdery sand beaches and strong surf. This beach on the open sea, where some of the most important tourist resorts are located, is a beautiful place to do water sports, however you should be very careful, as the surf can be rough.

Condesa

Located in the Zona Dorada area along Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, you will find one of Acapulco's most popular beaches. You'll find restaurants and shopping malls at this beach. You can also do water sports and bungee jumping from 50 meters (165 feet) high.

Tamarindo, Hornos and Hornitos

These three beaches are located along Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue and are known for their finely textured sand and small waves. On these beaches you can do all kinds of water sports as well as taking in some sun on a hammock.

Barra Vieja

The beach is 27 kilometers (16.7 miles) south of Acapulco, where the waters of the Papagayo River and Tres Palos Lagoon meet with the Pacific Ocean. On this beach, you can go on a long horseback ride surrounded by lovely scenery. You can arrive at the beach in public or private transportation. Don't forget to try the pescado a la talla (the grilled catch of the day).

Roqueta Island

Roqueta Island is locates in the Acapulco Bay, in front of Caleta and Caletilla Beaches, you can go to the island in a boat.

La Virgen de los mares (Sea Virgen) : it is under the sea and is a tourist attractive for people who visit the island.
Roqueta Lighthouse: The lighthouse at the Roqueta At the top of the hill from the center of the island, there is a beacon that can be accessed. It offers an extraordinary view of Acapulco Bay and the jungle on the island.
Zoo: On the island there is also a zoo where you will find different types of animals tigers, crocodiles, lions, turtles, monkeys, giraffes and deer.

La Quebrada

La Quebrada is one of the most famous attractions of the port of Acapulco.
It is a cliff 45 meters high, where - since 1934 - was made famous because you can watch brave men make a dive. Its danger because the diver has to calculate the time the wave that makes the sea level is higher, since otherwise it would be certain death due to the impact against the rocks of the fund, located at depths where the low sea level due to swell.

Museum and Fort San Diego

The Fort of San Diego is the most important historical monument in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero and the most important maritime strength throughout the Pacific Ocean. At this important building you can find the Historical Museum of Acapulco, under the administration of the National Institute of Anthropology and History, which comprises 13 exhibition halls through which the museum aims to identify the inhabitants of the state of Guerrero with the most important in their history and culture more encouraging.

Ecumenical Chapel of Peace

The Ecumenical Chapel of Peace, better known only as Chapel of Peace (Capilla de la Paz), is located on the highest part of residential Las Brisas in the bay of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. The chapel can be reached by taking Highway scenes (which leads to Puerto Marques and Acapulco Diamante) and then take a diversion leading to the top of that division.
The chapel of peace, is a non-denominational chapel, which official religious weddings for couples who often do not share the same faith or religion.
Next to it, stands a huge cross from 42 meters in height that makes it visible from anywhere in the port located in one of the higher elevations of Acapulco, 402 meters (above sea level).
Under the cross, is a bronze sculpture, symbolizing two hands to pray, pointing to the sky.

Pie de la Cuesta

The tourist zone of Pie de la Cuesta is 12 km. northwest of downtown Acapulco.
It is internationally famous for its sunsets and beach strong waves, in addition to the Coyuca Lagoon.
The vegetation of the lagoon is extensive mangrove forests, where you can find various kinds of reptiles and birds.
Water sports are practiced in the lagoon, which also provides a typical .

Papagayo Park (Parque Papagayo )

It is an ecological and recreational reserve located in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. It has an area of 218000 sq metres and has three artificial lakes, a large number of exotic species in captivity. Moreover, the park has recreational sites for children, sports courts, a skating rink, a library, among many others.

Cathedral of Acapulco

The Cathedral of Acapulco, or Catedral de nuestra Señora de la Soledad, is located in a building erected in the early twentieth century in the port area known as the center. It is located opposite the Plaza Alvarez.
It emphasizes the combination of styles there can be seen details of both the neo-colonial architecture, as the Byzantine and Moorish style, the latter in the dome and towers.
The interior of the church is decorated with golden tiles and mosaics.

House of the Mask (Casa de la Mascara)

The House of Mask (Casa de la Mascara) is a museum located in the port of Acapulco, which displays different masks of the seven regions of the state of Guerrero and also from Puebla, Morelos and Michoacan and from the entire world. It has more than thousand pieces.
The museum was inaugurated in late 1999 thanks to the assignment made by Blanca Villalba de Uruñuela y Sergio Suarez, promoter of the project, which possessed rich private collections of masks of the entity.

Mural Diego Rivera in the home of Dolores Olmedo

Located in Acapulco Traditional area, at the home of the defunct Dolores Olmedo, the largest collector of Riveras in the world and intimate friend of the Mexican painter, with whom he was linked sentimentally after the death of his wife, the controversial painter Frida Kahlo. Between 1956 and 1957, Diego Rivera decided to spend a season in Acapulco to recover from cancer, so he stayed at home with his friend Dolores where he made his last works before his death.
This house represents a cultural heritage and art is a living testimony of Rivera in Acapulco. If you have opportunity, take a trip to appreciate the mural Exekatlkalli that decks its facade, scouting-painting in relief material appearing where the deities of the Aztec culture, Quetzalcoatl and Tlaloc.
